Foaming Hand Soap Recipe: Herb Garden Blend

An overhead photo of the ingredients needed for DIY foaming hand soap reicpe

I have mixed feelings about going into the fall this year. While I welcome the return of the Pacific Northwest rains, flannels, hoodies, pumpkin spice, and autumn colors, I also find myself savoring these last days in the garden. So this year, instead of turning my focus to the season ahead, I decided to celebrate my garden’s ongoing bounty and extend the spirit of the season just a little longer. Drawing inspiration from the abundance of fresh herbs still sharing their aromatic and wellness supporting gifts, I created this foaming hand soap recipe to embody the energy of a flourishing herb garden.

This recipe was inspired by my personal garden, but if some herbs or plants are special to your garden or ecosystem that you would like to celebrate longer, you can swap some of these oils for your favorites.

How to Make Foaming Hand Soap: Herb Garden Bounty Scent

Makes about 4 ounces of soap.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to foaming pump bottle.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Label with blend and enjoy!

Pro Tips

  • A foaming pump bottle is required to create the foam. You can use this recipe without this type of bottle if the foam isn't important to you.
  • I made this soap in a small batch so you can easily scale based on your size bottle.
  • If Castile is too drying for you, you can add an oil to help soften the blend. This is optional.
  • Some foaming hand soap recipes will add water to dilute the soap.  I prefer not to do this as it significantly reduces the shelf life of the soap.
