DIY Essential Oil Roll-On Perfume Blends for Summer

Sweet, sublime summer! After many long months of rain and cloudy skies, I am ecstatic to finally enjoy some warmth and sunshine. From making tea pops to camping, there are so many enjoyable activities to squeeze into the short number of sunny months here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

With the arrival of summer, I find I need to change my hair and skin care routines, and I gravitate towards different aromatherapy scents than those that appeal during cool and overcast days. It is so fun to experiment with creating your own scents, and our new 5mL and 10mL roll top bottles are the perfect containers to store and apply your creations!

I am excited to share some of my favorite summer scents, designed to appeal to the senses and evoke the uplifting energy of the season. Each recipe fills one 5mL and one 10mL roll top bottle at a 2% essential oil dilution, so you can have one bottle for home and one bottle for on the go.

How to Make Perfume with Essential Oils

Directions

  1. Choose a blend of essential oils from the options above (or create your own blend).
  2. Slowly drop the essential oils into a 1/2 ounce glass bottle with screw cap. I like to use a cobalt glass bottle.
  3. Cap bottle and roll gently between palms for 5 to 10 seconds to blend essential oils.
  4. Uncap bottle and carefully fill the remainder of the container up to the base of its neck with organic jojoba oil.
  5. Cap bottle again and gently roll between palms for 15 to 30 seconds to blend essential oils with jojoba oil.
  6. Uncap the blending bottle and pour the essential oil/jojoba oil blend into a 5mL and a 10mL roll top bottle.
  7. Snap the roller ball applicators onto your 5mL and 10mL roll top bottles, then screw on the black caps.
  8. Allow blend to rest for about a day before use so the scent can meld and develop.
