Moon Phase Aromatherapy: Waxing Quarter Moon Perfume Spray

A labeled bottle of perfume spray sits on a bed of flowers

In the first part of this Moon Phase Aromatherapy Series, we explored the profound influence of lunar transitions on our lives. Regardless of personal beliefs, it is undeniable that the moon exerts significant and tangible effects on all living beings and ecosystems on Earth. The moon influences the distribution of energy within plants, and its gravitational pull causes the oceans to ebb and flow, resulting in changed currents and tides.

As we enter into the First Quarter Moon phase, the conscious and unconscious intentions and dreaming we did during the New Moon begin to manifest. It is a time of action to ensure that the proverbial seeds we sowed will succeed. It’s also a time to evaluate and refine our approach to reaching our goals and dreams.

For this reason, I took to my creative studio to blend the energy and aroma that embodies this action-packed time. I started the formulation with blood orange hydrosol, which is energizing and invigorating. I then went to work on the essential oil blend and decided to include two sweet and comforting bases that I call upon oftenPeru balsam and amyris. Both impart a smooth vanilla-like aroma on which the other notes rest perfectly. I then worked in some tangerine to further brighten the blend. Lastly, I called upon one of my favorite herbal allies for concentration and focus—rosemary. The First Quarter Moon is a time of action, so it’s important to have a sharp mind at this time.

Stay tuned for the Full Moon blend coming soon!
