Zesty Herbal Salad Dressing with Apple Cider Vinegar

Written by Thomas | July 3, 2024

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has become a beloved ingredient in many kitchens and is often celebrated for its distinct tangy flavor, versatility, and wellness properties. Originating from fermented apple juice, this golden liquid has a rich history in culinary and household applications. Its sharp taste complements a variety of dishes, and in my household, is a staple for homemade salad dressings.

Incorporating ACV into your salad dressings can add a refreshing zest that elevates even the simplest of salad greens. One of my favorite dressing recipes calls upon aromatic herbs like basil, oregano, parsley, thyme, rosemary, and marjoram. These botanicals create a symphony of flavors that also bring vitality and wellness support to the dining experience.

My go-to organic apple cider vinegar salad dressing is entirely vegan, ensuring it fits a wide range of dietary preferences. Combined with a touch of organic olive oil, a hint of garlic, and a dash of maple syrup for sweetness, this dressing becomes a delightful addition to your salads, offering a perfect balance of tangy, savory, and sweet notes.

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Salad Dressing Recipe

Makes about 3/4 cup of salad dressing.

Ingredients

Directions
  1. In a small bowl or jar with a lid, combine the apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and maple syrup. Whisk or shake vigorously until well mixed.
  2. Add the minced garlic, Dijon mustard, and organic dried herbs to the mixture. Continue to whisk or shake until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.
  3. Season with salt and organic pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed.
  4. Let the dressing sit for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together and the dried herbs to rehydrate. Shake or stir again before serving.
  5. Drizzle over your favorite salad, toss to coat the greens evenly, and enjoy a burst of fresh, tangy, and herbaceous flavors.

This dressing can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Shake well before each use to re-emulsify the ingredients.
