Water Element Perfume Recipe: The Mermaid Blend

Written by Jessicka | July 20, 2023

If you saw my recent article on my Earth Element Perfume Blend, you know I am working on some fun gift ideas for my upcoming wedding. As a Taurus, I of course started with an Earth element blend which came to me with great ease and intuition. When it came to formulating this water-element perfume though, it took more time and consideration. I found it helpful to imagine the mystical allure of mermaids and the calming essence of water in creating this blend.

I crafted the Mermaid Perfume using a harmonious blend of essential oils that evoke feelings of the meditative movement of water. I called upon clary sage for its soothing and tranquil qualities. Its herbaceous and slightly floral aroma creates a sense of calmness and balance reminiscent of a serene underwater world.

With ocean-side plants in mind, I chose bay laurel for its refreshing and uplifting notes. I love that this scent is “brisk” in nature and reminds me of dipping my toes in the cold Pacific coastline of Oregon. To soften this cold, I brought in ylang ylang with its delicate and sweet floral aroma. Its exotic scent enhances the overall allure of the blend, evoking feelings of beauty, sensuality, and femininity.

The Mermaid Perfume fosters a deep connection to nature and allows you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the ocean and its surroundings, even when far from the coast.

Mermaid Perfume Blend

Makes one 10mL bottle.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Drip essential oils into a 10mL roll-top bottle.
  2. Cap the bottle and roll between palms to incorporate oils.
  3. Remove cap and add flowers (optional).
  4. Pour in carrier oil of choice.
  5. Cap the bottle and roll in palms once again to incorporate.
  6. Label your bottle, enjoy, and share!

Pro Tip: If crafting these in bulk, I recommend creating a big batch of the essential oil blend and adding about 24 drops of that into each bottle.
