The other day, my six year old daughter, Amelia, asked, “Why don’t they have a Kids’ Day?”. This was in response to the fact that Mother’s Day had just passed, and Father’s Day was coming up. I suppose every kid asks this question, and I remember having the same curiosity. In response, like a knee-jerk reaction, I gave the cliché parental rebuttal, “Because every day is Kids’ Day.” Cue the eye-rolls.

Mother’s Day always conjures up memories of making a special, personalized gift to show my mom how loved she was. As a child, this sometimes resulted in questionable craft projects which only a mother could love! One that stands out in my mind, was the painted wooden egg cups—a definite necessity for all households—bright turquoise of course! And yet, they still hold a spot on the bookcase at my parents’ home.

Many of us here at Mountain Rose Herbs are the products of great dads, and we always look forward to honoring them as Father’s Day draws near. If the important father figure in your life is hard to shop for, we have a few suggestions to make the search a bit easier ... and more sustainable! 

I love this season of celebration. This time of year I'm often dreaming of chocolate truffles, forests covered in snow, and catching a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Making special foods, festive treats, and gifts while singing along with my favorite songs brings a glow of happy cheer to my heart—but my favorite part of the holidays is seeing the joy and excitement in other people as they unwrap the gifts I have made for them! Can you believe that Mother’s Day is just a few weeks away? It's time to celebrate those who have shown us motherly love over the years. She could be a close friend, aunt, grandma, mentor, or the woman who gave you life.
