Homemade perfumes are wonderful for a myriad of reasons. From the ability to try new things without an enormous price tag to the pleasure of crafting something both beautiful and useful, perfume making is a pastime that I’ve grown to truly love. I custom tailor fragrances to match my mood or emotional needs or to harness the energetics of certain plants. But I also have a fondness for crafting blends that match the seasons.
When I bundle up in a cozy sweater, I am ready for warm, comforting aromas that celebrate the season, like fall spices and winter forest notes. I want plant energetics that are grounding and resilient in nature and that allow me to be fully engaged with cold-weather nesting.
This essential oil recipe, which I aptly named my “Sweater Weather Blend,” can also be made into a body mist, solid perfume, or a diffuser blend, but I’m currently crafting it into a roll-on perfume. I love the aesthetic of roll-on perfumes with colorful dried spices in them and I appreciate that it’s easy to take with me when I travel for the holidays. Added bonus: roll-on perfumes make an exceptional gift!
May you enjoy this fragrance with feelings of warmth and gratitude for all that surrounds you.
