How to Make Foaming Hand Soap: Spring Sunshine Scent

Written by Jessicka | April 7, 2025

I don’t know about you, but I am ready for all things spring!  Here in Oregon, we are just coming out of several months of rain and overcast skies, and as the spring buds and blooms begin to emerge, I dive headfirst into the season. (Even though many of us Oregonians know this as “False Spring” because we get a few wintery surprises before real spring arrives.)  Yet, I still move forward with my spring cleaning and crafting season

Some of the first recipes I create for my home are the easiest ones that celebrate the season with little effort, or what I call my instant gratification crafts. Foaming hand soap is at the very top of that list! It’s pretty much the easiest recipe you can craft and always wows houseguests that come by. It also reminds us that even on those “False Spring” days, that spring is finally here!

This recipe calls upon organic castile soap as a base, which is then blended with uplifting orange, herbaceous basil, camphorous spike lavender, and invigorating rosemary to create a perfectly balanced scent to brighten your spirits.

Spring Foaming Hand Soap Recipe

Makes about 12 ounces of liquid soap.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to foaming pump bottle.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Label with blend and enjoy!

Pro Tips

  • A foaming pump bottle is required to create the foam. You can use this recipe without this type of bottle if the foam isn't important to you.
  • I made this soap in a small batch so you can easily scale based on your size bottle.
  • You may have found other recipes where water has been added to the castile soap. Water affects the shelf stability of recipes like this as there is no preservative. I have found using one pump of soap with the washing water works perfectly.
