This wonderful St. John’s Wort hydrosol is a subtle beauty to add to your collection. It has a dry herbaceous aroma with flat floral tones. Overall the scent is soft and will not overpower recipes when used as an ingredient.

This is an important time of year for celebrations. Samhain is almost upon us, marking the halfway point between the Fall Equinox and the Winter Solstice. Many are stocking up on organic sweets to pass out to the little ones. And here at Mountain Rose Herbs, we’ve been celebrating Fair Trade Month. This annual tradition focuses on raising awareness and building support for fair trade in the United States.

 We have a decadent new addition to our line of certified organic, steam-distilled hydrosols, the luxurious White Rose Hydrosol.

Our White Rose Hydrosol comes to us from artisan distillers in Bulgaria who specialize in cultivating, harvesting, and extracting this delicate flower. With beautiful rosy notes that are soft and delicate, this hydrosol offers a lighter floral scent than our Rose Hydrosol and is an intriguing scent to experiment with. You can enhance the uplifting floral aroma by blending with other hydrosols like rose geranium, ylang ylang, or neroli. Adding earthy essential oils such as vetiver or oakwood will create a rich grounding floral scent. The possibilities are endless!

Our expeller pressed and refined Coconut oil is certified Non-GMO and organic, and it’s great for general moisturizing. Coconut oil is generally used as a lather-producing agent in natural soap recipes. Our refined coconut oil is also suitable for food use, the refining process actually removes the pungent coconut flavor and aroma.

This powerful essential oil comes from the distilled fruit of the vitex or chaste tree. Vitex is considered a balancing herb for women. In fact, it is said to support physical and emotional health during a woman’s menstrual cycle and in the transition into menopause, relieving mild mood changes, occasional cramps, water retention, and hot flashes.*

Cacao has a long and colorful history as a beloved plant beginning in Central and South America before 1500 BC. The entire cacao fruit was used and considered sacred by the Mayan, Olmec, and Aztec civilizations. Mayans believed that the gods discovered the cacao tree in a mountain offering a plethora of ambrosial delights. 

We just love eating sprouts during the warm summer months! Recently, we introduced our Leafy Sprouting Seed Blend to make it easier for you to eat your microgreens. This blend was such a hit that we wanted to try our hand at another mix. We are happy to introduce our new Spicy Sprouting Seed Blend!

A classic ingredient for chest rubs and steams, eucalyptus is an evergreen tree native to Australia that has become naturalized in California and the Mediterranean. Its leathery blue-green leaves are studded with glands containing a fragrant, volatile oil that is camphoraceous and cooling. There are many species of eucalyptus trees, but the most pleasant-smelling oil is produced by Eucalyptus globulus. Eucalyptol is the major volatile oil in eucalyptus leaf, and while eucalyptus oil boasts around 70% of this compound, it is also found in other herbs at lower concentrations of 1-5%.
