Not only does it expand our understanding of our farmers and what we can do to support them, but it also gives us a chance to make sure that the highest quality processing starts before the goods arrive at our facility. This time around, we got to go behind-the-scenes to see how our amazing hydrosols are made.

We are pleased to announce a fantastic addition to our line of certified organic hydrosols, the inimitable Frankincense Hydrosol.

Our Frankincense Hydrosol is produced through steam distillation in the United States from organic Boswellia carteri resin that is harvested in Somaliland. This hydrosol is useful in meditation and energy work as well as skin care and fragrance blends. Frankincense Hydrosol has a fresh scent that is resinous and sweet with woody undertones.

Our New Year’s resolution is always to offer more certified organic botanicals for our customers! We are pleased to proclaim that our Coriander Seed Essential Oil is now certified organic.

Steam distilled by skilled artisans, our certified organic coriander seed essential oil has a sweet, spicy, woodsy aroma with a slightly fruity top note. Generally used as a middle note in aromatherapy blends, this oil combines well with some of our favorite essential oils, including organic cinnamon, organic ginger, organic neroli, and organic Australian sandalwood. The unique aroma of this oil is fun to play with while blending. It can support citrus notes, enhance spicy blends, and add an interesting earthy tone to other oils.

We’ve got a lovely new addition to our line of certified organic, steam-distilled hydrosols that we’d like to share with you, our St. John’s Wort hydrosol.

This wonderful St. John’s Wort hydrosol is a subtle beauty to add to your collection. It has a dry herbaceous aroma with flat floral tones. Overall the scent is soft and will not overpower recipes when used as an ingredient.

 We have a decadent new addition to our line of certified organic, steam-distilled hydrosols, the luxurious White Rose Hydrosol.

Our White Rose Hydrosol comes to us from artisan distillers in Bulgaria who specialize in cultivating, harvesting, and extracting this delicate flower. With beautiful rosy notes that are soft and delicate, this hydrosol offers a lighter floral scent than our Rose Hydrosol and is an intriguing scent to experiment with. You can enhance the uplifting floral aroma by blending with other hydrosols like rose geranium, ylang ylang, or neroli. Adding earthy essential oils such as vetiver or oakwood will create a rich grounding floral scent. The possibilities are endless!

This is a bright hydrosol with an herbaceous citrusy scent and a dry thyme-like undertone. Lemon Thyme hydrosol makes an excellent single ingredient spray, and can also be incorporated into your favorite skin care recipes. It is often used as a base for botanical perfumes and will add a fresh scent to your homemade cleaning products. This hydrosol blends well with bay laurel, calendula, and Douglas fir hydrosols.

I love the feeling of cool mist on my skin, especially when scented with flowers and citrus and earth. As a teenager, I collected bottles of perfume and reveled in the transformative magic that aroma inspires. Soft honeyed amber, light fruity florals, and spicy evergreen woods set the mood each morning before I adventured out into the world.

This powerful essential oil comes from the distilled fruit of the vitex or chaste tree. Vitex is considered a balancing herb for women. In fact, it is said to support physical and emotional health during a woman’s menstrual cycle and in the transition into menopause, relieving mild mood changes, occasional cramps, water retention, and hot flashes.*
