Essential Oil Blend for Focus + Room Spray for Studying

Written by Jessicka | April 6, 2022

In the fast-paced world we often find ourselves in, it can be hard to get in the right headspace to study or concentrate on what I call “sit-down tasks.” When I’m experiencing circular thoughts or find myself reading the same paragraph several times over, I know I need to reset my mind and body. I’ve learned that for me, stepping away from my desk, diffusing an invigorating essential oil blend, and stretching my body improves my mood and brings freshly oxygenated blood for more energy.

As I move my body, I enjoy the aromas working in the background to remind my brain that it is time to learn and grow. After my stretching, I take a few deep breathes, each with its own set of intentions—a mantra, if you will. Some of my favorites go something like this:

  • With this breath, I take in the fresh air that supports my strong mind and body and exhale the stagnation holding me back.
  • With this breath, I call and invite fresh and exciting ideas and release the ways of thinking that I no longer believe to be true
  • With this breath, I invite openness and a willingness to see other perspectives and breathe out anything holding me back from being the best version of myself.

While I cannot claim that this recipe or this practice will turn a blank page into a novel, I can say that it has improved my life and I hope that sharing it might help you, too.

Diffuser Blend for Study and Focus

Ingredients

Directions: Add essential oils to diffuser, following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Pro Tip: If you have a small diffuser that is intended for only a few drops of oil, you can pre-blend the recipe in a seperate bottle and then add the appropriate number of drops.

Don’t have a diffuser but still want to enjoy the benefits of an invigorating aromatherapy recipe? You can make a very similar blend as a room and body spray.

Aroma Blend Recipe for Studying

Makes about 2 oz.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients into a 2-ounce glass bottle with a mister top.
  2. Shake before use and mist generously.

Pro Tip: The mist will cause a slight tingle on the skin, which can be refreshing and invigorating, but is not pleasant for the face and especially the eyes.
